What are the characteristics of high temperature pump
April 18, 2024
High-temperature pumps are used in petrochemical plants, in addition to high-temperature pumps for processes (such as hot oil pumps, oil pumps, etc.), high-temperature pumps for boilers (such as boiler feed pumps, hot water circulation pumps, etc.), and high-temperature pumps for heat carriers. . The nature and temperature of the liquid conveyed by the process high-temperature pump varies with the process, while the heat carrier uses a high-temperature pump, and the heat carrier has relatively stable properties at a high temperature, the vapor pressure is also low, and it is easy to accurately control the temperature. Transfer to other liquids (for heat transfer media). The liquid used as the heat carrier is: heavy diesel oil (for extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons), organic solvent (for example, Isomarm, etc.) and molten salt (mixture of sodium salt and potassium salt).
The structural features of the high temperature pump are as follows:
1) Thermal expansion of the pump: due to the use of pumps and rotors: Since the pump body and the rotor are made of different materials, the gap between them becomes smaller in the hot state due to the difference in the expansion coefficient and the temperature. Therefore, the first consideration should be The gap in the cold state is larger than the general pump. In addition, the clearance fit between the sleeve and the shaft (radial and axial) should be appropriate, and it should be considered that the clearance fit in the hot state should be appropriate, and the centering in the hot state should be considered.
2) Pump support: The pump body will distort due to unavoidable thermal expansion. The centrally supported structure is usually used to ensure that the pump body expands freely and evenly, so as to avoid deformation of the pump body causing the shaft to bend and hold the shaft.
3) The compressive strength of the pump body: Generally high-temperature pumps are operated under high pressure, so the compressive strength of the pump at high temperatures must be considered. In addition, the load acting on the pump body due to the thermal expansion of the piping must also be taken into consideration.
4) Sealing of the shaft seal of the pump body: The pump body adopts a gasket (such as a wound gasket) suitable for sealing at a high temperature and the shaft seal uses a mechanical seal and a floating ring seal that work reliably at a high temperature and accordingly takes cooling and flushing And other measures.
5) Cooling measures are taken for the seat and shaft seals.
In addition, appropriate preheating and warming measures should be taken in use. In order not to make the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the pump too large, insulation measures can be used.
